On this page
A contact form lets visitors send you a message without leaving your site. Each message is emailed to you straight away; FolioPage does not keep a copy, so your inbox is the only place they live. Contact forms are available on the Pro and Max plans.
Step 1: add a contact section
- Open the page in the editor. Hover over the edge of any section and click + Add Section where you want the form to appear.
- In the Add section window, pick the Contact category on the left. Every contact section includes a form with name, email and message fields; they differ in layout and in which details (email, phone, location, social icons) appear next to it.
- Preview the one you like and click Add to page.
Step 2: set where messages are sent
Messages go to the Form submission email set in Settings. Leave it blank and they go to your account email instead. To use a different address, for example a studio inbox:
- Choose Settings in the sidebar.
- Enter the address in Form submission email and save.
Every site has its own setting, so two sites can deliver to two different inboxes.
Step 3: adjust the section
Click the cog on the section to open Section options. The exact options depend on the section you chose; the common ones are:
- Email, Phone and Location: the details shown beside the form. Leave a field empty to hide it. Note that Email here is only what visitors see; it does not change where messages are delivered.
- Show social icons: displays the profiles from your Social Profiles page.
- Form position: which side the form sits on, in sections that have a two-column layout.
- Success message: the text shown after a message is sent.
- Redirect after submit: send the visitor to another page instead of showing the success message, for example a thank-you page you created at
/thank-you.
The heading and introduction above the form are edited directly on the page, like any other text.
When you are done, click Update live site so the change reaches your visitors.
What the visitor sees
The form asks for a name, an email address and a message; all three are required. Submitting takes a moment while the spam check runs in the background, then the form is replaced by your success message or the visitor is redirected. If something goes wrong, the form shows a short explanation and the visitor can try again.
What you receive
Each message arrives as a plain email with the subject "New contact message from" followed by your site name. It contains the visitor's name, email and message, plus when it was sent and from which site. The visitor's address is set as the reply-to, so replying in your email app goes straight to them.
Tip: You can add a contact section to more than one page, or the same page twice. They all deliver to the same address and share the same monthly allowance. See Form limits and spam protection.
Note: On the Free plan a contact section still appears on the page, but sending is disabled: visitors see a message saying the form is not available on this site. Upgrade the site to Pro or Max to switch it on.
