Not receiving form messages?

A checklist for when contact-form messages are not arriving in your inbox, from the delivery address and spam folders to plan limits and an unpublished site.

  8. 8. The visitor saw a verification error
  9. Still missing?

Form messages are emailed the moment a visitor sends them and are not stored anywhere else, so if one does not arrive there is no queue to check later. Work through this list from the top; the first two items account for most cases.

1. Check the delivery address

Messages go to the Form submission email on your site's Settings page. If that field is blank, they go to your account email instead. Open Settings and confirm the address is the inbox you are watching and has no typo. If you recently changed your account email, check both the old and the new inbox.

2. Look in spam and other folders

Messages arrive from a FolioPage address with the subject "New contact message from" followed by your site name. Search your mail for that subject, including the spam or junk folder and any Promotions or Updates tabs. If you find one there, mark it as not spam and add the sender to your contacts so future messages land in your inbox.

3. Send yourself a test message

Open your live site in a private browser window, fill in the form with your own details and a sentence or two of real text, and press send.

  • If you see the success message and the email arrives, the form is working. The earlier message was most likely caught by the spam filter (see step 5).
  • If you see an error instead, the text tells you what went wrong; the next steps cover each one.

Tip: Test on the live site, not in the editor. Forms are switched off inside the editor preview.

4. Check the plan and the monthly limit

Contact forms are available on Pro and Max. On a Free site the form is visible but sending is disabled, and visitors see "This form is not available on this site."

On a paid plan, each site has a monthly allowance of messages (1,000 on Pro, 5,000 on Max). When it is used up, visitors see "This form has reached its monthly submission limit." Open Plan & Usage and look at Form submissions (this month). The count resets on the first of the month; moving to Max raises the limit.

5. The message was filtered as spam

Every submission is screened before it is emailed. A message the filter judges to be spam is dropped silently: the visitor sees the normal success message, but nothing is sent and nothing is counted. The filter weighs the message content together with the sender's email address and reputation. Ask the visitor to try again with a fuller message from their usual email address. See Form limits and spam protection for how the filtering works.

6. Make sure the site is published

If the site is not published, visitors see a "Coming soon" page and there is no form to fill in. Open Settings and check that Publish site is switched on. The toggle is disabled until you have confirmed your email address; the helper text below it tells you when that is the case.

7. Check that the form reached the live site

If you added the contact section recently and visitors say they cannot find it, the live site may not have been updated yet. Open the page in the editor and click Update live site, then reload the live page. See Why your changes do not show on the live site yet.

8. The visitor saw a verification error

"Couldn't verify you're human. Please try again." means the invisible browser check did not complete, usually because of a very old browser, a strict content blocker, or a dropped connection. Asking the visitor to reload the page and send again almost always fixes it. "This form was already submitted" appears when the same form is sent twice without reloading; a reload clears it too.

Still missing?

If the test message in step 3 succeeds on the site but never arrives, and it is not in spam, contact support with your site address, the delivery address you expected it at, and the time you sent the test. We can check whether the email left our side.
