A FolioPage site is either published or not. While it is not published, anyone who opens its address sees a simple "Coming soon" page; you can still edit everything in the dashboard. Publishing puts the real site in front of visitors at yourname.folio.page (and at your custom domain, if you have one).
Before you start
Publishing is the one thing that requires a confirmed email address. If you signed up with Google, your address is already confirmed. If you signed up by email, open the confirmation link in the welcome email first. See Verify your email address.
You can tell where you stand from the top of the sidebar, under your site's name:

Step 1: confirm your email (email sign-ups only)
- Open the email titled "Welcome to FolioPage - confirm your email" and click the confirmation link.
- If you cannot find it, open the account menu at the bottom of the sidebar, click Profile and, under your email address, click Resend confirmation email.
For most new accounts that is all it takes: if this is your only site and it has never been live before, confirming your address publishes it automatically. Otherwise continue with the next step.
Step 2: switch the site on
- In the sidebar, under Manage, click Settings.
- Turn on Publish site.
- Click Save changes.
Publishing updates the live site automatically; there is nothing else to refresh.
Note: The toggle is disabled with an explanation when the site cannot be published yet: either your email is unconfirmed, or this is a second site that needs a paid plan before it can go online (a Free account keeps one Free site). Upgrading such a site from Plan & Usage publishes it automatically.
Step 3: have a look
- In the editor, the top bar gains a View Live Page button that opens the page you are editing on the live site.
- On the My Sites page, each site card has a View live button.
- Or simply type your address,
yourname.folio.page, into a browser.
Give it up to a minute after publishing for the first time.
Making changes after publishing
Everything you edit is saved as you go, but the live site is served from a fast cache, so not every change appears to visitors instantly. When you have pending changes, the editor's top bar shows an Update live site button; click it to push them out. Most edits outside the editor are picked up on their own within a short while. Taking the site offline again
Turn off Publish site in Settings and save. Visitors see the "Coming soon" page again, your content stays exactly as it was, and you can publish again at any time. Unpublishing is always allowed, even while your email is unconfirmed.
What "live" looks like on each plan
On the Free plan your site shows a small "Powered by FolioPage" link in the footer. Pro and Max remove it and let you use a domain of your own; see Connect a domain you own.
