A template is a complete, working site: pages, sections, menus, design and sample images, all in place. Starting from one means you edit a finished site rather than build from nothing, and every part of it stays fully editable afterwards.

Open the templates page. Each card shows a screenshot and the kind of work the template suits.
- Click Preview (or the screenshot) to open the live demo inside a preview bar. Use the desktop and mobile switcher in the middle of the bar to see how it behaves on a phone, and the arrows to move to the previous or next template.
- Click Use this template when you have decided. What happens next depends on whether you are signed in.
If you are new to FolioPage
Use this template takes you to the sign-up page with the template attached. Create your account and your site is built from it during sign-up, so you land directly in the editor with your new site open. The site uses your own name, not the demo persona's, and gets a free address based on your name. See Create your account.
If you already have an account
Your dashboard offers the same choice wherever a site is created:
- First site: if your account has no site yet, the Let's set up your first site form has a Start from row with Blank plus every template.
- Another site: on the My Sites page click Add a new website, enter a Site name and Subdomain, and pick a template under Start from. Keep in mind that an account can keep only one Free site; a second site is created "pending a paid plan" and stays offline, though fully editable, until you upgrade it.
- An existing site: to swap the design of a site you already have, use Reset site in its Settings. You choose what to keep (portfolio, links, resume, logo and so on). See Reset a site to a fresh template.
Choosing Blank gives you an empty homepage with the default design and the default apps, which is the right choice if you want to build every section yourself.
Make it yours
After the site is built, the template's content is just a starting point:
- Click any text in the editor to rewrite it, and click any image to replace it with one of your own. See Edit text and images on the page.
- Change colors, fonts, logo and header style in the Design editor.
- Add, remove and reorder sections and pages as you like.
The template's sample images are displayed on your site but are not copied into your Media library, so they do not count toward your media or storage limits. Once you replace one with your own upload, the new file lives in your library.
Note: Templates are built with every feature switched on, and some of those features belong to the Pro or Max plans. On a Free site the content is still imported, but a feature your plan does not include is kept off until you upgrade. For example, a template that has a blog arrives with the Blog app switched off on Free and Pro sites, with its posts ready to appear once the site is on Max.
Changing your mind
There is no penalty for picking the "wrong" template. A site can be rebuilt from any other template, or from blank, at any time from Settings. Your media library, domain, subscription and site settings survive the switch.
