About Berta
Berta is a one page site for a kitchen and bathroom designer, a cabinetmaker turned interior designer, or any small studio whose work is a room you stand in rather than a picture you look at. It is built for the moment a homeowner is deciding who to let into their house for four months.
The homepage opens on a full bleed run of unequal photographs, with the studio name, one line and a specification strip set into the reveal between them, so the rooms carry the page before a single sentence does. Below that sit a figures band, a studio spread with a portrait and four working principles, the project grid, a before and after slider you can drag, four services with prices, a materials board, a four stage process, a client pull quote, the questions every first visit starts with, a showroom panel carrying opening hours and an address, and an enquiry form.
Everything stands on a warm near black ground with a single clay accent, so photographs of rooms glow the way they do under showroom lighting. Faustina sets the headings against Mulish for everything else. Corners are square, shadows are off, and each section heading wears a small bordered label.
The Portfolio app is wired and filled: ten projects across four categories, four captioned photographs each, and a data row on every one giving location, year, rooms, cabinetry, worktop and weeks on site. Those fields feed both the index and the project pages, so a visitor can see what was built, where, and how long it took. Resume, Links and Blog are switched off to keep the site to one page.
