About Pavel

Pavel is a one-page site for a small architecture practice, built around a single idea: the whole page is the practice's engraved doorplate. The name is cut into a bordered plate at poster scale, with the measured clear space a plate is set in drawn as four corner ticks just outside it, and one sentence beneath saying what the practice does. Nothing else competes with it.

Under the plate, a ruled register lists the people behind the door - a name, a role and one dated fact per row - and closes on a butted inscription strip carrying the practice's own facts: when it was founded, how much it has finished, where it works. It answers who is inside without a single portrait, which leaves the page's whole picture budget to the work.

The projects hang below as a rack of plates that butt with no gutter under one heavier rail, each carrying a mounted label bar across the foot of its own photograph: a divided index cell, the project name in tracked capitals, and its place and year read off the item's own fields. Every plate opens into the Portfolio app, where the projects are set out as a contents page and each one opens as a gallery wall label, the work hung uncropped with its data as caption lines beside it. The page closes on a quiet contact block with the email at heading size and the form folded away behind it.

The palette is blued steel and cut steel with no color at all, so the only hue on the page comes out of the photographs - material honesty rather than a brand color. Overpass, a signage face, sets the name and the labels; Commissioner carries the reading. Every corner is square, shadows are off, and the mobile menu opens from a seam in the middle of the screen outward, the way container doors part.

It suits a practice with a handful of finished buildings and no appetite for a brochure: architects, engineers and builders who would rather show a name, a list and the work. Set your own name into the plate, rewrite the register, and swap in your projects.
