On this page
The Blog app adds a full blog to your site: a post list with pagination, a page for every post, categories with their own pages, search, and optional extras like a featured strip and a sidebar. Posts are written in a rich-text editor with headings, links, images and galleries. Blog is available on the Max plan.
Turn it on
- Open your site in the dashboard and click All Apps in the sidebar.
- Click Enable next to Blog and confirm.
On Free and Pro sites the row shows a Max badge and an Upgrade to enable link instead; see Upgrade a site to Pro or Max.
Once enabled, Blog appears in the sidebar and your blog lives at yourname.folio.page/blog. Posts are at /blog/post-title and each category has its own page at /blog/category/category-name. To add it to your menu, use the App link type in Navigation.
Write a post
- Open Blog in the sidebar and click New post.
- Enter a Title. The URL slug is generated from it; click Edit next to the URL to change it.
- Write an Excerpt (up to 500 characters, shown in the post list) and the Body. Use the toolbar to add headings, lists, quotes, links, a single image or a gallery.
- Pick a Category in the Status card, or leave it as Uncategorized.
- Under Featured image, click Choose image to set the cover shown in the list and at the top of the post.
- Switch on Published and click Save and publish. Until then, Save as draft keeps the post private.
Posts appear newest first, ordered by the date they were first published. The Featured switch adds a post to the featured strip on your blog page, if you have enabled that strip in settings. The SEO card lets you set a Meta title and Meta description for a single post.

Categories
Click New category at the bottom of the Blog sidebar to add one, and hover a category to rename or delete it. Deleting a category moves its posts to Uncategorized. Every category has a public page listing its posts.
Settings
Open Settings in the Blog sidebar. The main options are:
- Base path: the URL prefix,
blogby default. - Heading Title, Heading Description and Intro content: the heading banner and optional text at the top of your blog page. The title is also the page's search engine title.
- Posts per page under Listing page: between 1 and 50, 9 by default. Older posts move to numbered pages. You also pick the listing Template here.
- Featured posts strip: switch it on to show posts marked as Featured at the top of the blog page, then pick a Style (lead and stack, card grid, image banners, numbered list or slider), a Strip title and how many Posts shown.
- Sidebar: switch it on for the listing or the post page, choose its Position (left or right) and which blocks it holds: Search bar, Categories and Recent posts.
- Posts page: the default post Template, the Content width (px), and switches for the featured image, the date and category row, the "Back to blog" link, previous and next post links, and related posts.
A single post can use a different layout from the default: switch on Use a different template under Post Template in the post editor. Click Save changes when you are done.
Search
Visitors can search your posts by adding ?q= to your blog address, for example yourname.folio.page/blog?q=travel. Turning on the Search bar in the sidebar settings gives them a search box that does this for them.
Limits
On the Max plan there is no limit on posts or categories. The images you add to posts come from your media library and count towards its storage limits; see Upload images and files.
Tip: To show your latest posts on your homepage, add a section from the Blog category in the page editor. It pulls the most recent published posts automatically.
