About Patina

Patina is a multi-page template for artists whose work is an object. It was built for a digital sculptor who makes artefacts that never existed and then ages them, and it suits anyone whose pieces have to be shown, labelled and defended: sculptors, ceramicists, metalworkers, printmakers and 3D artists selling prints.

It opens on something no other template does. The hero shows one piece twice, in two states, with a wipe you drag across the frame. Below it the work sits on identical dark plates, each picture contained rather than cropped, so a tall vessel and a wide instrument keep their own outlines on one line, and every plate carries a condition line taken from the item's own fields. A weathering block then runs one object through four ages along a drawn year axis, and a full-bleed field butts eight surface details together with no gutter so they read as one surface.

The inner pages answer the rest. About tells the biography as dated eras beside a portrait, lists the objects worked on before the practice began, then the exhibitions CV and a wall of press tearsheets. Studio covers the equipment, the reference archive credited forward to the work each source fed, and a table of materials and what time does to each. Commissions states what is included and, unusually, what is not, with price bands that explain what moves the number and a process that marks whose turn it is at each step. Contact carries a box-free ruled enquiry form, routes and access facts for finding the studio, and the collections holding work.

The design is cinematic and dark: a near-black ground, bone type, and one verdigris accent that carries links, buttons and marks and nothing else. Noto Sans Display sits light and wide over Karla, corners are square, shadows are off, and a floating glass header rides over the imagery. The Portfolio app is wired with twelve works in four series, each with a surface detail and a full record, on a specimen-tray index and a condition-report detail page.
