About Emre

Emre is a portfolio for a graphic designer whose work ends up on paper. It is built around one idea: the site is the proof you sign at the press. The homepage opens on a plate standing in a viewing booth, framed by four registration targets, with a density wedge printed under it and the job written out beside it - what you work in, since when, how many inks, when you are next free.

The work arrives as one imposed sheet: nine plates butted onto a trim grid with a folio number in each corner, a discipline chip and a specification line under every one, and a press control strip closing it. A filter across the head slices the sheet by discipline. Below it, a single poster is separated into the two plates it was printed from and shown as a printed sum, plate plus plate equals sheet, which says more about how a designer thinks than a case study can.

The rest of the page is a studio explaining itself: an accordion of four capabilities with a photograph each, a five stage ledger from brief to press check, a type specimen of the three faces the site is set in, a memo about how the studio works, three client quotes, an awards ledger and a ruled enquiry form.

It runs on a press console palette, near black with one fluorescent yellow that behaves like a spot ink, set in Passion One, DM Sans and Space Mono, with a colour bar printed along the bottom edge of the header and a colophon closing the footer.

The Portfolio app is wired up with ten jobs, four images each and three disciplines, shown as a wall of matted prints with a contact sheet on every project page. Resume, Blog and Links are off, so the whole thing reads as a single sheet.

Best for graphic designers, print studios, poster and identity work, and anyone whose portfolio is better judged by its specification than by its mood.
