About Kino
Kino is a one-page portfolio for motion designers, film and video studios, editors and animators - anyone whose work is measured in frames and would rather show a wall of them than write about it. Everything a visitor needs to judge the work is a picture, a client and a runtime.
The page opens on a title card: one full-bleed frame under matte bars, a tracked credit line over the name at display size, and a foot strip running three cells, a timecode and a pulsing tally dot along the bottom. Under it the work arrives at once as a frame store - a gapless wall of uniform 16:9 stills pulled from inside the projects rather than from their covers, each tile stamped with a running timecode and each one advancing to that project's next frame under the pointer.
The middle of the page files the projects as a broadcast running order: one ruled row each carrying a number, title, client, format and runtime, with a single large preview frame beside the list that swaps to whichever row the pointer is on. The about strip is written as end credits, with role and name meeting at a seam down the middle; the services are the empty delivery frames the work ships in, three outlined boxes at 2.39:1, 16:9 and 9:16; and the contact form is a clapperboard.
The design is a screening room. Near-black ground, bone type, and one tally red used only as a hairline, the record dot and the buttons - the frames carry every other color. Commissioner sets the headings light and wide, Mulish the body, Roboto Mono every timecode and credit row. The masthead is a centred stack with the menu set as a bill under the name, and on a phone that menu opens from a seam down the middle like a pair of doors.
The Portfolio app is wired and full: ten projects under four categories, ten frames each, a filterable masonry index and a slider on every project page. Resume, links and blog are off - this is a reel, not a CV.
