About Crayon
Crayon is a one-page showcase for illustrators whose work deserves the whole screen - oil pastel, gouache, riso, anything drawn loud. The site is a sheet of black paper: near-black ground, chalk-white type, one crayon-yellow accent, and a six-band crayon spectrum ruled under the header. The artwork supplies every other color.
The homepage opens straight on the work: a borderless masonry wall of 24 drawings at their natural sizes, your name and one line riding the flow as its first cell, every piece opening a shared lightbox with numbered captions. Under it, four full-screen series panels pull live from the Portfolio app, each cover washed by an even black overlay with the series title, category, image count and year printed over it. Then one ruled about strip - portrait, sixty words, medium chips and a commissions status lamp - a run of client names set as an acknowledgements line, and a bare underlined commission form with a mono meta rail.
The Portfolio app is wired as ten series of ten images each, filed under four commission types, with a square-tile overlay index and a detail page that opens on a spec bar and flows the drawings in a natural-aspect wall. Fjalla One does the shouting, Archivo the reading, and Space Mono every caption, chip and label. Squared corners, no shadows, a ghost back-to-top - the chrome stays out of the way and the drawings do the talking.
