About Nilo
Nilo is a picture book dummy read one spread per screen - a one-page illustration portfolio that shows work to publishers the way a dummy does, a spread at a time.
The deck opens on a cover slide: the name set as the book's title beside the dummy's front cover, a running label and the slide count. Eight spreads follow, one per screen, each a single picture with a one-line caption - the title, the publisher and year, one remark - alternating full-bleed pictures with framed ones, image left and right by turns, a book gutter drawn down the middle and the page pair printed under each page. The back flap is the facts slide: a portrait, one lead sentence and a register of the practical answers - where, medium, books, publishers, representation, availability - with the availability set in the accent color. The back cover closes the deck with a line, the agent and the studio as cells, one email button, the social profiles and a back-to-cover link.
The deck scrolls one slide at a time with the wheel, the arrow keys or a swipe, every slide numbered from its place in the page, under a fixed header that stays transparent over the cover and turns into a frosted dark bar over the spreads. Every picture is swapped by clicking it on the canvas, and the whole site says fewer than 250 words.
Set on a warm near-black ground with paper-white type and a single poppy-red accent, in Crete Round and Maven Pro. Portfolio, resume, links and blog are off - the slides carry their own pictures.
