Sign in with Google

You can create a FolioPage account and log in with your Google account instead of a password. It is the same account either way: one dashboard, the same sites, and you can add a password later if you want both options.

Create an account or log in

1. Open the login page or the sign-up page.
2. Click Continue with Google.
3. Pick the Google account you want to use. Google always shows its account chooser, so you can switch between several Google accounts.

What happens next depends on the email address of the Google account you picked:

Accounts created with Google do not need to confirm their email address - Google has already done that for us - so your first site can be published immediately. See Verify your email address.

Note: Linking only happens when Google reports the address as verified. If your Google account's email is not verified, sign up with email and a password instead, or verify the address with Google first.

The next time you visit the login page, the method you used last is marked Last used, with the Google address you picked shown under the button.

Log in with a password as well

An account created with Google has no password. If you enter your email on the login form, you see a message telling you the account signs in with Google. To add a password:

1. Log in with Continue with Google.
2. Click your avatar and choose Profile.
3. In the Set a password card, enter a New password of at least 8 characters, repeat it under Confirm new password and click Set password.

We email you a confirmation titled A password was added to your FolioPage account. From now on both methods work: Google, or your email address and password.

Link Google to an account you made with a password

There is no button for this. Just click Continue with Google and pick the Google account that uses the same email address as your FolioPage account. The two are linked automatically and you are logged in. Your password keeps working too.

Lost access to your Google account

You can still get into FolioPage. Use the password reset on the login page: enter your account email and click Send reset link. For a Google-only account the email is titled Set a password for your FolioPage account, and the link lets you choose a password and log in. See Reset a forgotten password.

What is and is not shared

• FolioPage receives your name and email address from Google. Your name becomes your account name; you can edit it in your profile.
• Your Google profile photo is not imported. Upload one in your profile if you want an avatar.
• FolioPage never posts to or reads anything in your Google account.
