About Anais

Anais is a template for a designer or maker whose work is inseparable from what it is made of. It was built for a sustainable womenswear label in Porto, and it suits anyone selling a considered, traceable product: apparel and textile designers, ceramicists, furniture makers, small manufacturers who would rather show their materials than talk around them.

The whole site is set out like a mill's swatch book. The homepage opens on one wide plate of the season with a ruled specification written underneath it, giving the fibre, the mill, the weight and the edition size, and that label strip recurs all the way down: as swatch cards on the material shelf, as a spec block over every collection photograph, and as a woven care label in the footer. The header hangs a garment swing tag off a stitched selvedge rule and uses it as the call to action.

Five pages, twenty-nine sections. The homepage runs from the season plate through a designer's letter, the collection, four cloths, a published ledger of figures, press, buyer quotes and a stockist list. Materials sets out every cloth with its origin, weight, dye and care. Stockists is a printed directory of shops beside wholesale terms, three price tiers and the stages of an order. Atelier introduces the people who make the work, and Contact carries a form, a live availability strip and the questions buyers ask first.

Marcellus over IBM Plex Sans on a cool paper white, with one deep indigo accent and hairline rules throughout. The Portfolio app is wired to a catalogue index and a dossier detail page, where each piece's cloth, mill, edition and prices are set as a specification over its photograph, and the Resume app carries the founder's record at its own address. Swap the cloths for materials, finishes, glazes or ingredients and the structure holds.
