About Vesna
Vesna is a one-page site for a bridal and wedding dress designer, or anyone whose work is commissioned, fitted and slow. It is built around the two things a bride actually needs before she writes: what a dress costs, and when she has to start.
The homepage opens on a tall plate of a gown beside a stitched column of type, then hangs six pieces on a rail of uneven plates, each captioned with its cloth and the hours that went into it. From there it works through the atelier's method as three numbered notes beside a portrait, a hand-work register that lists what is done by hand and totals the hours, three ways to commission, a price ladder with the terms written out, a countdown that measures every stage backward from the wedding day, a workroom spread, quotes filed against the dress each bride wore, press notices, questions with an invitation to write beside them, and an appointment request that asks for the date and the place.
The Portfolio app carries the full lookbook. Its index hangs every piece as a numbered plate with a filterable rail of categories, and each detail page sets the cloth, hours, fittings and photographer as a specification beside the lead frame, with the rest of the shoot underneath.
The look is a running stitch. A basted rule closed by one short tack in deep myrtle green opens every heading, caption and register row, set in a high-contrast serif over a quiet sans on paper white. Figures are tabular throughout, because this is a site that publishes its numbers.
Swap the gowns for cakes, furniture, tailoring, instruments or anything else made to order and the structure holds: the register, the price ladder and the countdown are the argument.
