About Stella

Stella is a one-page site for a personal stylist or wardrobe consultant who sells judgment rather than shopping. It is built in pure black and white, with no accent color anywhere: the only contrast the design owns is the inversion of ink and paper, and the whole site is set to be read in ten seconds.

The fold splits down the middle. One half is a solid ink panel carrying the name, the claim and a ruled strip of counted facts, all reversed out of the black; the other is one tall photograph, butted against it with no gutter. Above it, a single hairline runs the full width of the header and the wordmark, meta line, menu and booking button each hold a paper-colored gap open in it.

Below the fold the page answers a client's questions in order. A running marquee of the working set, then a real matrix of pieces against outfits with both totals computed for you, then the client work as plates, each closed by a proportional bar drawn from two of the item's own fields, so a visitor sees at a glance how much of each result came out of what the client already owned. Then the portrait and the story, a ruled register of what actually happens in a session with a struck verdict and a reason on every row, the appointments drawn as bars against one shared scale of hours, and a rate card that prints what each package works out at per piece or per month with the division written underneath.

It closes on a gallery of the room, testimonials set at display size with the attribution hanging in the margin, a column of press and talks by year, and an enquiry form written as one sentence the visitor completes in the blanks.

Set in Montserrat over Yantramanav, with square corners, no shadows and hairline rules throughout. The Portfolio app is wired to twelve client edits at /edits, each with three photographs and a record of what was kept, bought and let go; the inner pages carry a poster page heading with breadcrumbs, and the footer closes the site the way it opened, inverted.
