About Glamour

Glamour is a one-page showcase template for costume designers, and for set, lighting and stage designers, dancers and performers whose work is best seen the way an audience sees it: under one light, with the house dark. The site is a stage after the lights go down, and every costume stands in its own pool of light.

The homepage opens on that stage. Forty full-length frames hang five across with no gutter, each masked into a soft follow spot whose edges fall away to black; rest on a frame and the spot widens to show the whole picture, click it and it opens in a lightbox. A typed cue line under each names the production, the character and the act. Below the wall the productions hang from a drawn wardrobe rail, a cover on every hook with a paper swing tag printing the house and the year, in a row that scrolls sideways. Then four short strips: a portrait framed as a dressing-room mirror ringed with warm bulbs beside a short note, chips cut as sewn-in name tapes and the base and start year; three rate lines for stage, screen and one-off pieces with a from-price each; one review set as a printed notice with its stars, the publication and the production; and the booking form as the stage door's sign-in book under a lit sign, with the door's address and hours beside it.

Behind the homepage the Portfolio app holds ten productions of ten images each, filed under Opera, Theatre, Dance and Film. The index lays the covers out as full-bleed tiles; each production opens with a spec bar of its credits, the cover at full width, a short account of how the costumes were made, and the remaining frames in a masonry with a caption under each.

The type is Antic Slab, thin and quiet, over Assistant, with every cue line, tag and label in tracked small caps. A blue-black ground, off-white text and one accent, curtain red, on the tags, the stars, the sign and the button. The header is one bar with four links; the footer is an end card with the menu. Resume, links and blog are off.
