About Season

Season is a one-page showcase template for session hair stylists, and for makeup artists and fashion stylists whose work is measured in printed pages and show seasons. The site is the wall of a stylist's studio: every picture is a tear sheet held up by two strips of blue painter's tape, and the season's pages go up as they print.

The homepage opens on that wall. Forty pages at a magazine's 3:4 ratio hang five across at small alternating tilts, each with a typed running foot naming the client, the season and the page number, and every one opens in a lightbox. Below it the stories sit as stacks of pages, the cover on top and two sheets fanned behind, with the client and season typed under each title and a page count in the accent. Then four short strips: a taped print beside an index card with a sixty-word note, cut-out label chips and the agency, base and start year; three rate lines with a from-price each; the credits as strips cut from mastheads with a season on every one; and a booking form written on an index card, with a typed column for the agency, a direct email, the cities and the reply time.

Behind the homepage the Portfolio app holds ten stories of ten images each, filed under Editorial, Shows, Campaigns and Beauty. The index pins the covers to a board behind sticker filters; each story opens as a folio with the cover beside its credits - client, season, photography, makeup, pages - and the rest of the pictures paired into spreads with a caption under each.

The type is Tinos, the Times of the fashion page, over Karla, with every label, foot and season typed in Courier. Paper white, a warm gray surface, ink text and one accent, painter's-tape blue, on the tape, the button and the active link. The header is a floating bar with a booking status and a Book button; the footer is one big line and the menu. Resume, links and blog are off.
