About Lens
Lens is a one-page portfolio for a fashion photographer, set the way a magazine sets its opening pages. The name stands on plaster paper above the cover photograph rather than over it, so a pale, high-key or busy frame never has to be darkened to keep the title legible. Under it the work arrives at once: a wall of thirty-six frames stacked in columns at their natural ratios, nothing cropped, and the columns travel at slightly different speeds as you scroll so the wall never settles into a grid. Every frame carries its story and look number on a small-caps line underneath and opens full size in a lightbox.
Below the wall the ten stories run as full-width letterbox bands, one per story, the title set over the lower-left corner with a printed credit ledger under it reading the client, the season and the stylist alongside the frame count. The about block opens on a standfirst with a drop cap and a portrait in the outer margin; the rate card prices each offer on several hairline rows - a day, a half day, usage, an extra look; and the page closes on a booking form whose fields are underlined rules with their labels standing in the margin.
The palette is plaster and raw linen with ink type and one oxblood accent, held to links, the drop cap and the folio numerals, so the photographs carry every other colour. Amiri sets the masthead and the titles, Jost the body and the tracked menu, and the corners are square with no shadows anywhere. The header is one hairline rule running the width of the bar, showing only between the name, the location and the menu.
The Portfolio app is wired as ten galleries of eleven frames each across four categories, with the index laid out as a magazine feature well - a tall plate beside an oversized folio numeral and a credit ledger - and each story opening as a stacked column of every frame beside a sticky column of its details. Replace the photographs, rewrite the credits and the rates, and the structure holds.
