About Panorama

Panorama is a dark, one-page portfolio for a professional photographer whose work is made by hand: panoramic landscapes on film, printed in a darkroom and sold in small numbered editions. The whole page is lit by a single safelight red on near-black, every photograph is black and white, and the pictures develop as you scroll - each frame arrives as a negative and comes up to the positive the way a print comes up in the tray.

The homepage opens on one strip of 6x17 film with sprocket holes and edge print, the name set beside a ruled register of camera, film, paper and editions. A negative sleeve of six frames follows, then the latest prints pegged to a drying line, pulled live from the Portfolio app. The photographer's portrait lies in a developing tray next to a first-person introduction and a kit list, and the numbers are printed on a darkroom test strip that steps from light to dark.

Below that the page turns to the business of prints: services as film boxes on a shelf, the commission process as a row of lit darkroom timers, a ruled edition price list by size with its terms, a notebook of developing recipes, quotes set at display size, a year-by-year record of exhibitions and press, a delivery-and-returns FAQ, and a print inquiry form beside a panel glowing under a safelight lamp.

Type is a tall condensed sans over a clean sans, with monospaced edge print, timer digits and labels throughout, and every corner cut square. The header carries a status rail with a pulsing lamp and an outline call to action, the footer is a facing card with darkroom hours, and the mobile menu fades in slowly like a print.

The Portfolio app ships with ten panoramic series in four categories, three frames each, and two templates made for it: an index that files every series as a strip of negatives with sleeve-tab filters, and a detail page that presents the lead frame as a fiber print with a printed label and an inquiry link.
