Astrid is for an author with something to sell and somewhere to be: a new book, a diary of readings, a journal, and a way for festival programmers to reach you without going through three inboxes.

The homepage opens the way a hardback does. The new title stands as a bound object, spine and cut page edges included, beside its release line, flap copy, a review quote and the format details. Below it the site works down through a letter in the author's own voice, the full backlist hung uncropped like books on a shelf, the next dates, a few personal figures, what other writers have said, the latest journal entries, and what you can be booked for.

Three inner pages carry the rest. About runs the long biography beside a facts panel, a gallery of the places the books come from, the awards and press record, and a formal CV. Events is a diary of confirmed dates with booking states (open, free entry, sold out, by invitation, past) and the questions a programmer actually asks before booking. Contact pairs a form that reaches the author directly with a short directory of the people who handle rights, publicity and bookings.

The design is a two colour press: warm book paper, blue black ink and one deep press blue as the second colour, set in Libre Baskerville and Spectral under a printed masthead, with auto numbered chapter headings down every page and a jacket blue footer.

Three apps are wired and filled. Portfolio runs the bibliography at /books, uncropped covers in a masonry index with a publisher, extent and rights panel on every title. Blog runs the journal at /journal. Resume publishes a literary CV at /cv with an automatic PDF for the festivals that ask for one.
