About Essence

A one-page site for a coach, a consultant or anyone who sells judgment rather than hours, built the way a public building is signed: one panel that tells you who this is, one legend that tells you how to read it, and a grid of plates that point you at the work.

The homepage is four blocks and nothing else. A sign panel opens it, with a tracked head rule carrying the practice and the place, the name set at sign scale, one sentence of introduction, a small square portrait and a foot rule of destinations. Under it a legend of five labelled facts, each opening with its own drawn mark, answers the questions a visitor asks before they read anything else: how long you have been doing this, what one session is, where you work, how you work, and what you did before. Then six plates from the Portfolio app, captionless, each closing on a foot bar that carries the title, one measured value read from the item's own fields and a chevron that lights in the accent as the cursor crosses it. The page closes on a contact strip: four short fields on one line of hairline cells, the brief under them and a direct email beside the send button.

The design is Swiss and holds still. A cool sign-panel grey ground, white plates, near-black ink and one signal red used only to point - the header band, the chevrons, the current menu item and the one button. Roboto in two weights throughout, tracked capitals for every label, tabular figures, square corners, no shadows and no scroll animation anywhere. The desktop menu is a bordered strip with squared corners, and on a phone the menu drops from the top as a solid board with a row and a chevron for each destination.

The Portfolio app is wired and set up as a small archive of case notes: six items in three categories, each with three pictures, captions and four information fields that print as a spec strip on the item's own page. Resume, Links and Blog are switched off, because a calling card that opens quickly is the point.
