About Grove

Grove is a one-page portfolio for people whose work is written up rather than sold: students, researchers, and anyone who would rather hand over a well-formatted document than a brochure. It says everything on one screen and can be made yours in an hour.

The page opens like the cover sheet of a thesis. A small labeled line names your program or your field, your name is set at reading size rather than poster size, and one sentence says who you are and what you are looking for. A hairline closes the block with your city, the date and a page count. A portrait sits beside it at passport size, or not at all.

Under it, a declaration strip prints the things a reader checks first as labeled cells on one ruled row: your year, where you are based, what you are working on, what you are looking for, and a line about life away from the desk. Add cells, remove them, or reorder them from the panel.

The work is presented as a list of figures. Every project is a numbered plate, Fig. 01 beside its title and its year, on a ruled grid with hairlines between the cells and nothing printed over the pictures. Projects come from the Portfolio app, so you add and reorder them there and the page follows. Behind the grid, the full index is a wide-margin register with a category filter, and each project opens as a record of its own: the year, the kind of work, where it happened and the method, set beside every picture at full width.

The page closes with your email at heading size, a short form folded behind it, and end matter underneath: correspondence, notes, a citation line for the page itself, and your links.

The design holds back so the work reads. One typeface in two weights, black ink on white paper, square corners, no shadows, and a single moss green used only for links, the current menu item and one button.
